This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) outlines the guidelines for using mobile devices provided or approved by the company. By using a company-provided or approved mobile device, you agree to abide by these rules.

Scope of Policy

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and other individuals who use company-provided or approved mobile devices. It covers the use of these devices for both personal and business purposes.

Device Ownership

Company-Provided Devices: All company-provided devices remain the property of the company. The company reserves the right to monitor and control the use of these devices.

  • Employee-Owned Devices: If you use your personal device for business purposes, you agree to allow the company to monitor and control certain aspects of its usage, as outlined in this policy.

  • Acceptable Use

    Business Use: Mobile devices must be used primarily for business purposes. This includes tasks such as:

  • Communicating with colleagues and clients
  • Accessing company systems and data
  • Completing work assignments
  • Personal Use: Limited personal use of mobile devices may be permitted, provided it does not interfere with business productivity or violate company policies. Personal use should be conducted in a manner that is respectful of others and does not create a hostile work environment.

  • Prohibited Use

    The following activities are strictly prohibited on company-provided or approved mobile devices:

    Illegal Activities: Using mobile devices to engage in illegal activities, including but not limited to:

  • Theft
  • Copyright infringement
  • Harassment
  • Discrimination
  • Unauthorized Access: Accessing unauthorized systems, networks, or data.

  • Personal Use Restrictions: Engaging in excessive or inappropriate personal use that interferes with business productivity or violates company policies.

  • Data Security

    Data Protection: You are responsible for protecting sensitive company data stored on your mobile device. This includes:

  • Avoiding public Wi-Fi networks
  • Reporting lost or stolen devices immediately
  • Data Backup: Regular backups of important data should be performed to prevent data loss.

  • Monitoring and Enforcement

    The company reserves the right to monitor and review your mobile device usage. This may include:

  • Tracking Location: Tracking the location of company-provided devices.
  • Reviewing Internet Usage: Reviewing your internet usage history on company-provided devices.

  • Consequences of Violations

    Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

    Amendments

    The company reserves the right to amend this policy at any time. Any changes will be communicated to employees in writing.

    By using a company-provided or approved mobile device, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy and agree to abide by its terms.
